Hortblue Petite®

Hortblue Petite®

The outstanding new blueberry variety

Two harvests with the new New Zealand variety Hortblue Petite®.

The aromatic fruits are harvested – depending on the weather and climate zone – from the end of June to the end of July and again from the end of August until the first frost, freshly from the bush.

Due to its compact growth (height approx. 130 cm), it is perfect for terraces and balconies as well as for gardens.

In early summer, the Hortblue Petite® shows itself at its most beautiful. The bush radiates a color play of blue berries, combined with white flowers and dark green foliage.

A wonderful addition to the snacking garden!

Our Care Tip:

After the first sprouting (around the end of May), trim the fresh shoots by about one-third – this promotes a second bloom and supports an earlier harvest.

Location:

The Hortblue Petite® prefers a full sun location. It requires acidic soil with a pH value of 4.0 – 5.0, like all other blueberry varieties.

Since it remains relatively small, it can also be easily integrated into narrow or small gardens.

Long-term Yield:

For a consistently high yield, the plant should be provided with sufficient water and nutrients, in the form of a complete fertilizer or nitrogen-rich organic fertilizer.
